Today was busy but at this moment I am enjoying the quietness of the porch. Life has been so fulfilling lately but has really felt like a race of sorts as well. The weather is beautiful and cool enough to enjoy some reading time on the quiet porch. It has become my refuge at home as of late. The trail calls my name constantly but my love for my family keeps me grounded. I feel like Buck in Call of the Wild by Jack London.

Now Even the Pope Contradicts the Gospel
While I do believe that Jesus died to conquer all sin and redeem the world he did make it quite clear that it was through our belief that we are able to accept the free gift of grace. Apparently the Pope thinks differently.

Bitterness of Husbands
I came across this article and it really resonates. It is amazing how quickly my heart can turn to bitterness in my marriage. Take a minute to read. Comments? Do you find yourself bitter at times? How to you spot and prevent it in your marriage?

When Mother's Day is Hard
I ran across this article from the Gospel Coalition. We continue to pray for those friends we know that are struggling with loss and difficulty having children. I ran across this article and thought some might get some encouragement from it.

Raising Arrow Children
Below is a link to a great article on the full blessing of our children. My prayer is that God's work in my children will make them mighty arrows.

OBLIVION
Cameron is home from college for a short time until he goes to basic so when he said yes to babysitting it was date night for Robyn and I. We were planning to just go out for dinner but Groupon was offering half price tickets to the Studio Movie grill. It was "on like donkey kong" as Uncle Si would say. I was only too thrilled when I saw that Oblivion was playing. I had seen the trailers and it looked very intriguing. I love Sci Fi. Let me clarify. I love Sci Fi with a deep story line, mystery, and fantasy. I could care less about effects as long as the story is deep. I get frustrated with movies billed as Sci Fi and they turn out to be just a modge podge of effects. Oblivion was not that at all. The effects were stunning, well done, and easy on the eyes. The cinematography was also well done. I felt engaged at all times. The plot was somewhat predictable (especially if you saw the trailers) but there were some twists. Overall it was a great movie and the best Sci Fi movie I have seen since Prometheus although Oblivion seemed more complete of a story.
What is your favorite Sci Fi movie? How did you like Oblivion?
